WHY CHOOSE ONE BITCOIN ROULETTE SITE OVER ANOTHER?

Every player has his own preferences when it comes to online roulette games just as every casino has its own strengths and features, which can either suit a player or not. That’s why I try providing as much data as I can in the listings alone to help you decide and give even more information in each individual review.

When looking for Bitcoin roulette games I believe it all comes down to 4 different scenarios:

  1. you prefer to play in a casino with a large and diverse Bitcoin roulette selection so you can play many different games before settling for a specific one,
  2. you want to play with a good bonus, which you can use on Bitcoin roulette games,
  3. you know exactly what you want and are looking for a specific roulette game you played before and just want the best offer for that game
  4. or you prefer playing Bitcoin roulette games from a certain software provider because you trust it more or just like it better.

All crypto gambling sites I list are licensed, safe, reliable and tried out by my humble self 🙂

If you’re hoping to find your Bitcoin roulette selection as large and diverse as possible, refer to the Best Bitcoin roulette sites list above, where casinos are sorted by the number of all Bitcoin roulette games they offer. You can be sure that casinos who offer the most games, offer a good diversity as well. If you wish to try games for free first, I listed the best free Bitcoin roulette sites below.

If a good bonus is what draws your attention then go through the bonuses in the top Bitcoin roulette bonus section below. You will be able to find bonuses of 1 BTC, 1.5 BTC and even 5 BTC! Before you use any bonus, make sure table games are included in the wagering contributionwagering contribution: how much a game contributes towards bonus wagering requirements. (example: 5 % wagering contribution means 0.05 $ of each 1 $ bet in that game will count towards wagering) if you’re planning to use the bonus on roulette games. Wagering contribution can be found in the casino’s bonus terms and conditions. Oh … and try finding one with low wagering requirmentwagering requirement: how many times must you wager your bonus money before making a withdrawal. (example: 50x wagering requirement of 100 $ bonus money means you must wager 5000 $ before being eligible for withdrawal of bonus funds)!

If you have a specific game in mind, then head to roulette types to find sites offering the best European, American or French roulette games or even more specifically, see other roulette types and adaptations to find games like Lightning roulette, Bonus roulette, Golden Chip roulette and more.

If your preference is a game provider, you will find all game providers a casino works with listed in each casino’s review page.

So I gathered only the best 4 Bitcoin roulette bonuses which check all the boxes and can be used best for roulette games.

Bitcoin roulette pros

WHY PLAY ROULETTE WITH BITCOIN?

Most advantages of Bitcoin roulette come from the fact that you’re using Bitcoin as your currency of choice, regardless of the game you’re playing. Look at the table below:

Bitcoin Roulette Pros

Bitcoin Roulette Cons

Some people add another con to Bitcoin stating it’s not as user-friendly as other payment methods but in my experience it’s no more complicated than having to deal with an online bank and I’m guessing you don’t have problems with it either if you’re reading this guide.
Live Bitcoin roulette sites

SHOULD YOU CHOOSE LIVE BITCOIN ROULETTE?

Bitcoin live roulette has its own perks: you can play alongside other players, have the game run by a live dealer and chat with either of them.

First, let’s have a look at the top 5 live Bitcoin Roulette sites:

Live Bitcoin roulette by Zugi
Live roulette by Zugi from 7Bit Casino

Live roulette games come in two different variants: with or without a dealer (croupier).

Games with a dealer are the classic option. The dealer runs the game, tells you when it’s time to place bets, when time is up, he or she spins the roulette wheel, throws in the ball and tells you the slot where the ball landed. Of course, you also see the live feed of the roulette wheel and/or the dealer.

Live games without the dealer are called automatic or auto roulette. The only difference here is that the roulette wheel and ball are spun automatically and all timings and results are declared by a computer.

Neither variant, however, shows you the live feed of the game board where the bets are placed so you can’t see bets from other players unless you ask them directly.

TOP LIVE BITCOIN ROULETTE BONUSES

As I said before, table games don’t always count towards wagering contributionwagering contribution: how much a game contributes towards bonus wagering requirements. (example: 5 % wagering contribution means 0.05 $ of each 1 $ bet in that game will count towards wagering), or they don’t count in full. The same goes for live games. So from all bonuses available for roulette games, here are the top 4 Bitcoin live roulette bonuses, where live games contribute most:

First deposit bonus:
100 % up to 5 BTC
Wagering: 0x
Live Roulette wagering contribution: 10 %
First deposit bonus:
100 % up to 200 $
Wagering: 35x
Live Roulette wagering contribution: 10 %
First deposit bonus:
100 % up to 1 BTC + 20 free spins
Wagering: 35x
Live Roulette wagering contribution: 10 %
First deposit bonus:
100 % up to 1 BTC + 200 free spins
Wagering: 30x
Live Roulette wagering contribution: 5 %

So should you choose live Bitcoin roulette?

If you are someone who prefers brick and mortar casinosbrick and mortar casino: an actual, physical building with a casino inside and enjoys a personal approach to playing but appreciates the advantages of doing both online then definitely.

Or if you like to have contact with other players to discuss their and your game then go for it as well.

As far as the game itself is concerned, there is no difference between a live and a non-line roulette game. Your odds are the same, the rules are the same, only the “feel” of the game is different due to the former being run by an experienced casino dealer.

Free Bitcoin roulette sites

SHOULD YOU PLAY FREE BITCOIN ROULETTE?

Split, low, snake, orphan bet.

If above roulette bets are unfamiliar or completely unknown to you, then free Bitcoin roulette should be your first option.

Don’t worry, I also explained all game variants, possible bets and outcomes in Bitcoin roulette types and Roulette betting odds, payouts and options.

Free roulette games are only demo versions of actual, real money games so the game experience is exactly the same except you don’t wager your own money and you also can’t win anything. But it’s an excellent way to get to know the game and the special bets and odds.

Keep in mind that while you can view some live roulette games in demo mode, you can’t play them for free. Free play is only available for non-live games.

Not all casinos offer free or demo mode of their games so here are the top 5 casinos, which offer most free games. I even listed the number of free games by roulette type if you have a preference.

Bitcoin roulette rules and layout

ROULETTE RULES AND LAYOUT

A roulette game consists of a game board where you place bets, a roulette wheel with a ball and your casino chips.

The roulette wheel has 36 numbers and a zero (0). Each turn, the roulette wheel is spun one way and the ball is spun the other way. The aim of the game is to guess which ball pocket will the ball land inside once the wheel stops spinning.

Ball pockets on the wheel alternate between red and black, except for zero, which is green.

Roulette table and rules
Roulette table by Betsoft from mBit Casino

Betting is done by placing chips on the board with numbers from 0 to 36. Each number has a colored field corresponding to the color of that number on the roulette wheel. With a single chip you can bet on a single number, two, three, four, five or six numbers or on a special category of numbers.

Placing a chip on 2 numbers is called a split bet (look at the chip on 7 and 10 in the image above).

One chip on 3 numbers is possible for 0, 1, 2 and 0, 2, 3 by placing the chip on the adjacent corners of the numbers or on any 3 numbers in the same row (also called a street bet – see the chip on the outer edge of number 24).

To bet on 4 numbers, place a chip on all four adjacent corners like shown in the image above (also called a corner bet). Placing a chip on the line between 0 and other numbers on the outer edge of the board allows you to bet on 0, 1, 2 and 3 at the same time (also called a top line bet – see the chip on the corner of number 1). American version of roulette allows you to make the same kind of bet on 5 numbers because there are 2 zeros, but more on that later.

To bet on 6 numbers, a chip can be placed on the outer two adjacent corners of two numbers (also called a six line bet – see the chip on numbers 30 and 33).

OUTSIDE BETS

Additional fields around the numbers, also called ‘outside bets’, allow you to make other, safer bets because you bet on a third or half of all the numbers except 0. These bets are:

  • 1st, 2nd or 3rd 12: bet on all numbers on the 1st (1-12), 2nd (13-24) or 3rd (25-36) part of the board
  • 1 to 18 or 19 to 36: bet on all numbers on the 1st or second half of the board
  • even/odd: bet on all even or odd numbers
  • red/black: bet on all numbers with a red or black field
  • 2 to 1: bet on all numbers in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd column of the board

All these bets also have different probabilities to win and for that reason different payouts if you win. I will explain roulette betting odds and payouts a few scrolls down.

EUROPEAN, AMERICAN AND FRENCH BITCOIN ROULETTE

Roulette comes in 3 different types: European, American and French. You can find hundreds of other roulette variants originating from these 3 or a mixture of these three but I’ll get into those later in other roulette types and adaptations.

European, American and French roulette vary in board and wheel appearance and consequently also in odds and game play.

'LA PARTAGE’ AND ‘EN PRISON’ RULES

The French roulette has 2 additional rules called ‘La Partage’ (the divide) and ‘En Prison’ (in prison). They both apply only for even money betseven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets). In the first case you get half your money back if the wheel spins zero. In the second case your bet gets “frozen” in case of a zero and you get all your money back if you win the next spin with the frozen bet. Both cases cut the house edgehouse edge: percentage telling how much the odds are in favor of casino in half to 1.35 %.

I’ll show you what these additional rules do to your odds 3 chapters down in roulette betting odds, payouts and options.

THE RACETRACK

The roulette racetrack is an additional part of the betting board, which can be found in French and sometimes in European roulette.

ROULETTE BETTING ODDS, PAYOUTS AND OPTIONS

Different roulette types have different odds and different bets have different odds of winning. Payouts go hand in hand with betting odds – the lower the odds, the higher the payout.

In the table below I gathered all possible bets on all possible roulette types along with odds and payouts.

Before you dive in, let me just explain how I write the numbers:

  • probabilities or odds: 1:35 is the same as 34 to 1 or 1/35 ≈ 0.0286 ≈ 2.9 %, the numbers in the table represent the probability to win
  • payouts: 35:1 will give you 35 times your bet plus your original bet back (example: if you bet 1 $ you win 35 $ and you end up with 36 $)

I will show you how you can calculate your own probabilities and outcomes at the end if that’s something you struggle with.

HOW TO CALCULATE PROBABILITIES

‘La Partage’ and ‘En Prison’ rules of the French roulette are the only two outcomes that weren’t represented in the table above. You’ll see why in a minute.

I’m going to use the ‘En Prison’ rule as an example to show you how you can calculate your own winning odds and losing odds. The calculation procedure is basically always the same so you can apply it to other kind of bets.

First, let’s get some basics down. Before you start crunching numbers, figure out how many possible results there are each turn or each bet you make. Since there are 37 slots on the roulette wheel and the ball can only land inside one slot each spin, you have 37 different possible outcomes.

Now, to calculate a probability, you only need one more number. Let’s say you want to know the probability to win if you bet on number 6. That means that you win if the ball lands on 1 number (6) and you lose if it lands on any other 36 numbers.

To get the probability to win, just put both numbers together: one number to win/37 possible outcomes = 1/37 ≈ 0.027 = 2.7 %. If you look at the table above again, this is the probability to win a straight-up bet in European or French roulette.

You see, probability to win is simply the number of ball slots you bet on divided by the number of all possible slots the ball can land in. On the contrary, if you want to know the probability to lose, you divide the number of ball slots you didn’t bet on by the number of all possible slots the ball can land in.

In our case if the ball lands in any 36 numbers besides the one you bet on, you lose: 36/37 ≈ 0.9729 = 97.3 %.

If you put both, the probability to win and the probability to lose, together, you should get 100 % since there is no other possible outcome. You either win or you loose, there is no draw.

2.7 % + 97.3 % = 100 %

EN PRISON

Ok, now let’s refresh what ‘En Prison’ does: if the ball lands on 0 during your even money beteven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets), your bet stays untouched. If you win the next spin with this same bet, you win nothing but you get your money back.

This description might be a bit confusing when you want to translate it to probability calculation, so let’s simplify it.

Let’s say you bet on black (it doesn’t matter which even money beteven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets) you make, the probability is the same every time). If the ball lands on a black number, you win, if it lands on red, you lose and if it lands on 0, you get the chance to keep your money and neither win nor loose. So you only win if the ball lands on black the first time.

There are 18 black numbers and 37 different numbers altogether so the probability to win with the ‘En Prison’ rule is: 18/37 ≈ 0.486 = 48.6 %

The probability to win is the same as betting on black without the ‘En Prison’ rule.

What’s the point of this rule then?!

I’m glad you asked! For this rule to make sense, you need to look at what happens if you loose. With or without the rule, you always lose if the ball lands on a red number. It’s the zero that makes the difference. Without the rule, if the ball lands on zero, you lose. But with the rule in play, if the ball lands on zero, you don’t necessarily lose.

Let’s calculate the probability you lose your bet. As I said before, you lose if the ball lands on red. That’s 18 numbers again divided by all 37 numbers = 18/37 ≈ 0.486 = 48.6 %. Now let’s look at the zero.

The probability that the ball lands on 0 is the same as for any other single number (we calculated this at the beginning): 1/37 ≈ 0.027 = 2.7 %. So the ball hit 0 and now, in order for you to lose, it must hit a red number again. We already have that: 18/37 ≈ 0.486 = 48.6 %. The probability that you lose if the ball lands on 0 and then on red is 2.7 % × 48.6 % ≈ 0.013 = 1.3 %.

The only thing left to do now is to put all these pessimistic probabilities together: the ball lands on red or the ball lands on zero and then on red = 48.6 % + 1.3 % = 49.9 %.

Let’s compare this result with the result without the ‘En Prison’ rule in play, which is 18 red numbers + zero divided by all numbers = (18+1)/37 = 19/37 ≈ 0.513 = 51.3 %. You have more chances of loosing without the rule in play.

This is where this rule makes a difference. It doesn’t help you win but it helps you not loose.

In case you noticed, if you sum your winning and loosing probabilities, you get 48.6 % + 49.9 % = 98.5 % and not 100 %. That’s because the ‘En Prison’ rule has the option where neither you nor the casino wins, resulting in about 1.5 % probability.

The payout with the ‘En Prison’ rule doesn’t change because the payout only matters when you win and your winning odds are the same with or without the rule: 1:1.

LA PARTAGE

‘La Partage’ is also a rule applying to even money bets even money beteven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets). If the ball lands on zero, you get half your money back. One thing to remember here is that whether you get your money back or not doesn’t have anything to do with your probability to win.

If you bet on black again, you can only win if the ball lands on black, which is 18 out of 37 numbers = 18/37 ≈ 0.486 = 48.6 %.

If the ball lands on red, you loose and if it lands on zero, you loose as well, just not as much. But with probability a loss is a loss, so your probability of loosing is 18 red numbers + zero divided by all 37 numbers = (18+1)/37 = 19/37 ≈ 0.513 = 51.3 %.

In terms of probability, the ‘La Partage’ rule doesn’t help you at all compared to ‘En Prison’. But in terms of your money, it helps you the same.

BetPayoutBall lands on black (you win)Ball lands on red (you lose)Ball lands on 0 and then blackBall lands on 0 and then red

You see, the only difference between the rules is what happens in case of zero. But in terms of money if you average out both possible outcomes of zero, you end up with 5 $ for both rules.

BEST ROULETTE STRATEGIES

To be honest, I never used any of the most popular roulette strategies described below and I’ll tell you why in a moment.

Roulette has countless different strategies but several gained more popularity. Here they are:

Read about what I found out and which strategy turned out to be the best!

THE MARTINGALE STRATEGY

This strategy relies on even money betseven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets) and doubles your bet each time you lose and resets your bet back to the initial bet once you win.

The idea is to cover all losses by doubling your bet every time you lose and to minimize risk by resetting your bet to initial bet once you win.

In theory this can work if you have a loaded bottomless wallet. Otherwise, you’re going to lose all your money soon enough. The problem is that no matter what you do, your odds of winning each round are still under 50 % which makes you lose in the long run.

Don’t get me wrong, you can get lucky and succeed with this strategy, but that will be because of your luck not the strategy 🙂

THE D'ALEMBERT STRATEGY

Similarly, like the Martingale strategy, the D’Alembert strategy relies on even money betseven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets) and increases your bet when you lose and decreases it when you win.

But unlike the Martingale, it doesn’t double your bets or cut them down to the initial bet value but it simply increases or decreases the bet for 1 unit.

For example, you choose the value of your initial bet, say 3 $, and the value of the increase/decrease, say 1 $. That means that if I lose 2 times in a row after the initial bet, I go from 3 to 4 to 5 $ bet. Then if I win i go from 5 to 4 $ and so on.

The idea of the D’Alembert strategy is basically the same as the Martingale, except it doesn’t escalate your bets so drastically. The D’Alembert strategy would suit you much better if you don’t have millions at your disposal but at the end it crashes head first into the same wall as the Martingale. Both these theories would work wonderfully if your even money betseven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets) had 50% chance or more. But the casino always has the edge so in the long run, you would lose with the D’Alembert strategy as well, just slowly. Unless you’re lucky again.

THE FIBONACCI STRATEGY

The Fibonacci strategy again works in the same way the Martingale and D’Alembert strategies do using even money betseven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets) to increase or decrease your bet when you lose or win.

The Fibonacci strategy uses the Fibonacci sequence, where each number is the sum of the previous two: 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 …

You start at the beginning of the sequence with 1 $ as your bet. When you loose, you move one up the sequence. If you win, you move 2 back down.

It works just like the D’Alembert strategy except your bet values and increases or decreases are predefined by the sequence, while with the D’Alembert strategy you’re free to choose the values yourself.

These were 3 examples of some of the most popular progressive roulette strategies and I kind of already answered along the way why I don’t use them. Although they can be really fun to use, they are just a way of playing and in no way increase your odds. Casino’s house edgehouse edge: percentage telling how much the odds are in favor of casino is sadly something, which will always be on the casino’s side and all you can do is hope your luck stays on your side.

However, I will add here that if you’re not sure how to bet at roulette, it’s still much better to use one of these strategies than to just go around placing your chips randomly where they fall.

HOT OR COLD NUMBERS

This is a common roulette question that has been going around for as long as roulette exists (which is about 300 years, I think).

Let’s take the red/black bet as the example again. The idea is that if a black number was played a certain times in a row then a red number must be due. This is an interesting way our mind plays a trick on us.

What you must know is that every time the roulette wheel and the ball are spun, the ball always has an equal chance of falling on any of the 37 numbers. So if the first number is black, the next number has the exact same chance of being black. Or red for that matter.

Unfortunately, there are no hot or cold numbers. Every spin is independent of the previous one.

WHAT'S THE BEST ROULETTE STRATEGY

Once you sit down at a roulette table, there is no strategy that can improve your odds. If you want your odds to be the best, the only thing you can do is choose the right roulette table before you start playing.

Remember, European and French roulette have a better house edgehouse edge: percentage telling how much the odds are in favor of casino than the American and 2 additional rules can help you with playing even money betseven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets) at French roulette.

So my advice would be to stick to French roulette for even money betseven money bets: bets with 1:1 payout ratio. If you bet 10 $ and win, you get 10 $ and your initial 10 $ back. (example: red/black, even/odd, 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 bets) or to either European or French for all other kind of bets. Or you can choose a roulette game derived from one of the two if you want to give a little more spice to your game.
